(A prophet kills a woman (Om Qarfah
A prophet kills a woman (Om Qarfah)!
They said and wrote in their books: Muhammad kills a woman between two camels, and these are their proofs:
1 – Om Qarfah is Fatemah Bint Rabiaa Ibn Badr Ibn Amr Al Fazareya. She got married to Malek Ibn Houthaifa Ibn Badr, and brought 13 children, the first was called (Qarfah), and all their boys were their tribe's leaders. She was cherished and powerful, to the extent that when people quarrel in Ghatfan, she used to send her scarf on a spear to be put between them, so that they reconcile. She used to incite people against the messenger of Allah (PBUH), so he (PBUH) sent Zaid Ibn Haretha in the sixth year of immigration, so he killed her savagely, as he tied her legs with a rope and then tied it between two camels till she was split into two parts. She was an old woman, and Zaid carried her head to Madina and told people there that she was killed. (Tarajem Al Alaam, chapter "the killed people in the year 6").
2 – Ibn Ishaq said: When Zaid was sent in an army to invade Bani Fazara, he killed them in Wadi Al Qura, some of them were injured, and Om Qarfah was taken and her daughter as a prisoner of war. Zaid Ibn Haretha ordered Qais Ibn Al Mashar to kill her, so he killed her savagely, then they went to the messenger of Allah (PBUH) with her daughter.
3 – It's said that Zaid Ibn Haretha went to The Levant for business, and had some goods to give to the prophet's (PBUH) companions. When he reached near Wadi Al Qura, he met some people From Fazara, Bani Badr, who stroke him and his friends, and took all what was with them. Zaid went to the prophet (PBUH) and told him about what happened, so the prophet (PBUH) sent Zaid and his companions to them at night. They surrounded Bani Badr till morning, then they arrested Om Qarfah and her daughter, and Qais Ibn al Mohser killed her savagely; he tied her legs with a rope connected to two camels. He let the camels each camel go in its ways, so the woman was split into two parts.
The reply to this misunderstanding:
First: the prophet (PBUH) prohibited killing women, and that was his lifestyle. This can be proved in the following:
1 – The Correct Bukhari, no. 2792, Ibn Omar said: we found a killed woman during one of the prophet's (PBUH) incursions. He (PBUH) prohibited killing women and children.
2 – Abo Dawood's Sunan, no.2295. Rabah Ibn Rabie narrated from his grandfather, he said: We were in an incursion with the messenger of Allah (PBUH), when he (PBUH) saw a group of people gathered around something. He (PBUH) sent a man and told him: go a see why those people are gathered. The man returned and said: they're gathered around a killed woman. He (PBUH) said: "that woman wasn't to fight", then he (PBUH) sent a messenger to Khaled Ibn Al Waleed, the leader of the army there, and said: "tell Khaled not to kill a woman or an aseef". (aseef: a person who serves in the army but doesn't participate in the fight).
3 – Ibn Majah's Sunan, no. 2832. Hanthala Al Kateb said: We were in an incursion with the messenger of Allah (PBUH), when we passed by a group of people gathered around a killed woman. He (PBUH) said: "this wasn't to fight with the others". Then, he (PBUH) said to a man: go to Khaled Ibn Al Waleed and tell him: "The messenger of Allah orders you not to kill a woman or an aseef".
4 – Abu Dawood's Sunan, no. 2247. Anas Ibn Malek narrated that the messenger of Allah said: "Go in Allah's name, trusting in Allah, and adhering to the religion of the messenger of Allah. Do not kill a decrepit old man, or a young infant, or a child, or a woman; do not be dishonest about booty, but collect your spoils, do right and act well, for Allah loves those who do well".
Second: the fair researcher should ask himself first: what are the evidences on the narrations of Om Qarfah's death?
The answer: all the previous narrations aren't true or correct and all Muslim scholars agreed on that, so we shouldn't refer to them.
Third: let's assume that those narrations are true…..So, does Om Qarfah deserve to be killed or not?
I say: according to the previous narrations, she deserves to be killed, because:
1 – She left Islam after entering it, and the messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever changes his religion, should be killed" (narrated in The Correct Bukhari).
2 – She used to provoke people against the messenger of Allah (PBUH), and insult him in her poetry.
3 – She prepared an armed force to kill him (PBUH).
Fourth: the prophet (PBUH) wasn't responsible for the savage way of killing this woman. According to the previous narrations (that are completely false), Zaid Ibn Haretha is the one who killed her, so the title of this misunderstanding is untrue…
Anyway, if we suppose that those narrations are true, so we apologize for the objectors, as at Muhammad's (PBUH) time, there were no satellites or cell phones that enable him (PBUH) to order Zaid not to kill the woman that way!!
Besides, Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings are very clear through his biography: that he (PBUH) ordered his followers no to mayhem or kill anyone savagely. This is proved in The Correct Muslim, no. 3261, Buraida narrated that the prophet (PBUH) used to order the heads of the army saying: "Go in the name of Allah, in the cause of Allah, fight those who don't believe in Allah. Don't steal, or betray, or mayhem, or kill a baby…..".
There are many speeches concerning this issue which were mentioned previously.
It's obvious now that Muhammad (PBUH) used to order the armies to fear Allah, the Almighty, and not to oppress the enemy, such as: betrayal, mayhem, killing savagely, which proves his (PBUH) mercy.
Fifth: The Bible mentions that the Lord orders to rip the pregnant women's bellies. This is mentioned in Hosea 13:16:
[a] Samaria shall bear her guilt,
because she has rebelled against her God;
they shall fall by the sword;
their little ones shall be dashed in pieces,
and their pregnant women ripped open.
And orders to kill children with rocks, this is Psalms 137:8-9:
O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed,
blessed shall he be who repays you
with what you have done to us!
Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones
and dashes them against the rock!
The Bible mentions that prophet David (PBUB) killed people savagely. This is in 2 Samuel 4:12:
12 And David commanded his young men, and they killed them and cut off their hands and feet and hanged them beside the pool at Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth and buried it in the tomb of Abner at Hebron.
And also in 2 Samuel 12:30-31:
30 And he took the crown of their king from his head. The weight of it was a talent[a] of gold, and in it was a precious stone, and it was placed on David's head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. 31 And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor with saws and iron picks and iron axes and made them toil at[a] the brick kilns. And thus he did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
I say: If prophet David (PBUH) killed people savagely by cutting their bodies with saws (according to what's mentioned in the Bible), and no one criticized him, then why do the objectors object the narrations of Om Qarfah's death, criticize
Muhammad (PBUH), and allege that he's not a prophet….?!
